What kinds of leadership programmes can ITAA consider?

ITAA evaluates leadership programmes that are primarily theological, ministerial or faith‑based in purpose. Eligible programmes commonly include:

• Pastoral and ministry leadership certificates and diplomas.
• Undergraduate or postgraduate leadership degrees with clear theological learning outcomes.
• Short courses or contextual ministry training where content, assessment and learning support are specified.

Programmes focused on secular management without sustained theological content are not within ITAA's scope.

Standards used to assess leadership programmes

ITAA assesses programmes against published standards for curriculum design, learning outcomes, assessment, staff qualifications, learner support and spiritual formation. Review covers programme documentation, teaching delivery, moderation and evidence that student achievement is reliably assessed.

Legal and regulatory responsibilities

Institutions remain solely responsible for complying with all applicable national, state/provincial and local laws relating to operating an educational institution and issuing qualifications. ITAA accreditation does not override local law and does not grant statutory degree‑awarding powers.

Before an institution issues certificates, diplomas or degrees it must ensure it holds any licences, registrations or approvals required in its jurisdiction.

How to apply for programme accreditation

Apply via ITAA's standard application process. Provide programme specifications, learning outcomes, assessments, staff CVs, sample learning materials and evidence of governance and QA arrangements. ITAA will review documentation, provide feedback and, where standards are met, grant programme approval as part of institutional accreditation.
