ITAA - International Theological Accreditation Association
International Theological Accreditation Association

As a recognised accrediting body under the Council for Education Quality & Accreditation (CEQA), the International Theological Accreditation Association (ITAA) adheres to the same core policies, compliance expectations, and baseline quality assurance standards required by CEQA.
This ensures that all theological institutions accredited by ITAA meet globally aligned private-sector standards while maintaining their distinct biblical and doctrinal identity.

At ITAA, we uphold a set of specialised theological standards that reflect our commitment to biblical faithfulness, academic excellence, spiritual development, and institutional integrity. These standards operate in full alignment with CEQA’s policies and compliance framework, while addressing the unique needs of theological education.

1. Theological Integrity

  • Statement of Faith:
Accredited institutions must uphold a clear, biblically grounded statement of faith aligned with historic evangelical orthodoxy.

  • Doctrinal Soundness:
All teaching must reflect sound doctrinal principles and affirm the authority and sufficiency of Scripture.

2. Academic Excellence

  • Curriculum Standards:
Programmes must deliver substantial theological depth, ministry-focused training, and strong critical-thinking development.

  • Faculty Qualifications:
Faculty must hold appropriate theological or academic credentials and demonstrate excellence in both scholarship and spiritual mentorship.

3. Spiritual Formation

  • Student Spiritual Growth:
Institutions must provide meaningful opportunities for prayer, worship, discipleship, and community-based Christian formation.

  • Mentorship & Discipleship:
Faculty and staff should actively guide and mentor students in their faith, preparing them for effective ministry and lifelong spiritual maturity.

4. Global Mission

  • Missional Focus:
Accredited institutions should demonstrate a clear commitment to the Great Commission and equip students for both local and international ministry impact.

5. Institutional Health & Governance

  • Financial Integrity:
Institutions must demonstrate responsible stewardship, financial sustainability, and transparent financial practices.

  • Leadership & Governance:
Strong governance, ethical leadership, and clear accountability structures are essential for institutional stability and long-term success.
