Contact & Verification

Clear instructions for contacting ITAA, verifying an institution's accreditation status, and understanding legal and regulatory responsibilities.

How to contact ITAA

The International Theological Accreditation Association (ITAA) accepts enquiries and verification requests by official email and dedicated online forms. Do not rely on informal or social-media claims about accreditation.

Use the contact form available on our website or send enquiries to the official email addresses published on our Contact page. We do not publish telephone numbers; all formal communications and document submissions must use the channels listed on our site.

How to verify an institution's ITAA status

Before accepting a qualification, students and stakeholders should verify an institution's accreditation directly with ITAA. Accepted verification methods include:

  • Search the ITAA online directory for the institution's current listing.
  • Request a written confirmation from ITAA by email citing the institution's legal name and campus addresses.
  • Ask the institution to provide its official ITAA certificate and cross-check the certificate details with ITAA records.

ITAA updates its public directory promptly after changes to status, but institutions remain responsible for maintaining accurate public statements.

What ITAA will verify and what we will not

ITAA can confirm whether an institution holds ITAA accreditation, the accreditation level (Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3), and the effective dates or any formal sanctions recorded by ITAA. ITAA will not:

  • Confirm governmental recognition or statutory degree-awarding powers—these are controlled by local authorities.
  • Provide legal opinions about an institution's compliance with national laws.

Reporting suspected misuse or misrepresentation

If you suspect an institution is misrepresenting its ITAA status, submit evidence and a detailed request for investigation through the ITAA verification form. ITAA reserves the right to investigate misuse of accreditation, misleading advertising, or false claims and may suspend, withdraw, or amend accreditation where appropriate.

Typical verification response times and privacy

Verification requests for public accreditation status are usually handled within published service times; requests that require document review or investigation may take longer. ITAA handles personal data in accordance with its privacy policy and will not disclose confidential information except as required by law or with consent.

Guidance for prospective students

Students should: check the ITAA directory; ask institutions for a current ITAA certificate and supporting documentation; confirm whether local legislation affects the use of a qualification for employment, licensure or further study; and contact relevant government agencies where statutory recognition is required. ITAA can help explain its standards and rankings but cannot substitute for local legal or regulatory advice.

Important Accreditation Information

Institutional rankings measure the maturity of systems and governance, not the value of a ministry, spiritual calling, ministry effectiveness, or God’s favour.
