- Check the institution's public statements and documentation (award titles, campus names, effective dates). Institutions are responsible for accurate public information.
- Use ITAA’s Contact & Verification form or email to request confirmation; include the institution name, website and country. Verification requests are processed within published timeframes.
- Ask for documentary evidence: an accreditation certificate, effective/expiry dates and scope (institutional, programme, or short course).
- If necessary, request clarification about multi-campus coverage or whether a specific programme is included under the institution’s accreditation.
What ITAA will and will not confirm
ITAA will confirm whether an institution holds accreditation, the scope (institutional or programme), and the effective dates. ITAA will investigate and act on credible reports of misuse or misleading public claims. ITAA does not confer governmental recognition, and accreditation does not replace any local licence, registration or statutory degree‑awarding power required by law.
Timeframes and follow-up
Verification enquiries are routinely processed within 2–5 business days. Complex cases or complaints may require longer; ITAA prioritises fairness and accuracy and will acknowledge receipt and provide an expected response date.
If you suspect misuse or false claims
Report suspected misuse via ITAA’s verification/contact channels. ITAA reviews complaints confidentially and may suspend, withdraw or amend accreditation where misuse or misleading advertising is established.
